Loft Insulation

We offer a range of loft insulation services including rolled loft insulation boarding, loft ladders, new hatches and ventilation aides.

In a typical UK house around 25% of house heat loss goes through loft and roof space areas. To reduce this the required guidance for loft insulation in most types of property`s is at least 270mm – 300mm of rolled insulation. This should be laid out 100mm between the rafters and then a secondary 170mm – 200mm laid out in the opposite direction.

The majority of loft insulation we install is the Knauf Insulation Glass Mineral Wool – Earthwool loft roll. The ready cut rolls make it a friendly material for our loft installers to use, it is made of rapidly renewable bio-based materials and is manufactured to the highest ISO standards.

When laying insulation we take into consideration the quality of the existing insulation and in some cases this needs to be removed from the property and new fitted. We are also experienced with laying insulation into the eves areas, this needs to be done carefully so as to avoid blocking air ventilation into the loft space and we also offer protection to some lighting systems so as to avoid heat build up.

Alot of customers use their loft areas for storage. We are able to offer an additional service installing loft legs on to the existing joists so as to create a raised platform area that does not deplete the existing insulations effectiveness and offers a sturdy, neat and boarded level for belongings and boxes. We can remove any existing boarding you may have and in some cases this can be re-used.

In some houses there are problems with loft access and we can provide an additional service cutting and installing new openings, loft hatches and fitting ladders.
